Job Description

PeopleReady Skilled Trades connects tradespeople and work in the construction and energy sectors. Currently we are seeking Millwrights/Automotive lift technicians for the installation and assembly of steel automotive lifts. Automotive lifts are used to lift and support vehicles for service or storage. In this position, you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge of industrial equipment to assemble lifts using precision tools and processes to ensure the lifts are installed and functioning according to manufacturer guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in installing automotive automotive lifts in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards. This involves assembling lift components, positioning them correctly, and securely anchoring them to the floor..
  • Use of precision leveling and alignment tools in order to measure angles, material thickness and small distances with calipers, squares, micrometers, optical instruments and other tools.
  • Installing parts, equipment and machinery by measuring, cutting, drilling and/or welding.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2-4 years industrial construction/maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools and layout tools such as lasers, ultrasonic measuring and alignment tools, plumb bobs, cutting torches, hydraulic torch wrenches, hydraulic stud tensioners, soldering guns.
  • Ability to handle steel components.
  • Understand load properties of cables, ropes, hoists and chains.
  • Demonstrated ability to use certified hand signals.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Good aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of math concepts, geometry and layout.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead others and provide detailed instructions.
  • Good reading comprehension.
  • Ability to work with others – team player
  • MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TOOLS
  • Have reliable transportation daily to and from jobsite
  • Weekend work may be required
  • Physical Demands:
  • Required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.
  • Must have good dexterity with hands and fingers to perform the precision adjustments of machinery parts and controls.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
  • May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
  • Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms.
