Job Description
As a Journeyman Electrician with People Ready Skilled Trades, you’ll support a large network of electrical contractors in Raleigh, NC. In these short-term or long-term roles, you’ll earn $25-$28 an hour, enjoy weekly pay, health insurance benefits and a flexible work schedule. Responsibilities
Hours: 40-50hrs a week, Monday-Friday
Some weekend, overtime work available
Day shifts
Review blueprints and building code specifications to determine work details and procedures
Measure, cut and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
Maintain tools, vehicles and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order
Perform semiskilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment
Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum five years of experience on commercial or industrial construction sites
- In-depth knowledge of building codes and laws in your area
- Perform tests and use the results to diagnose problems – for example, when an outlet is not working, using a multimeter to check the voltage, amperage, or resistance to resolve the appropriate course of action
- Have all of the tools of your trade on hand and be able to bring them to your jobsite
- References that will verify your professional skills and experience
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
- OSHA-10 Certification may be required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Be committed and passionate about the work performed
