Job Description
We are currently looking for a foreman electrician to work on a new construction commercial project located in Jacksonville, FL!
An electrical foreman is a professional who is responsible for supervising electricians in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. Electrical foremen conduct periodic inspections at a construction site to ensure that materials and supplies are available. They must enforce safety regulations, rules, and working conditions among the employees.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise day to day duties of a crew up to 30 electricians
- Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps
- Conduct inspections ensuring that projects meet plans, quality, OSHA standards and client requirements.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines
- Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine
- Supervise the installation on all phases of electrical equipment such as: main switch gear; HVAC supply and lighting
- Installing and bending 1/2 to 1 EMT with approve fitting.
- Conduct inspections ensuring that projects meet plans, quality, OSHA standards and client requirements.
- Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation
- Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices
- Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems
- Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operate or be used safely
Qualifications & Experience
- • Minimum five years of experience on commercial construction sites
- • In-depth knowledge of building codes and laws in your area
- • Ability to read blueprints
- • Perform tests and use the results to diagnose problems – for example, when an outlet is not working, using a
- multimeter to check the voltage, amperage, or resistance to resolve the appropriate course of action
- • Have all of the tools of your trade on hand and be able to bring them to your jobsite
- • References that will verify your professional skills and experience
