Job Description

Responsible for the safe, efficient and quality conscious operation of fixed and mobile equipment and the execution of labor tasks related to the position. Assure the work being performed consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the supervisor as well as published policies and procedures

Responsibilities

·        Operate dumper, ship loader, dozers and loaders to dump rail cars, load and unload vessels and/or trucks, perform general labor and maintenance duties

·        Operate skid steers, excavators and/or hydraulic cranes as assigned

·        Operate locomotives, both remotely and manually

·        Responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed

·        Respond to emergency call-outs if needed

·        Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns

·        Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork

·        Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.

·        Attend daily / weekly safety meetings

·        Execute general preventative maintenance activities, repairs and housekeeping tasks. A high degree of cleanliness and organization must be maintained

Perform any other terminal functions as trained, requested and instructed by supervision

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive training in railcar, truck, heavy equipment, warehousing vessel operations, safety and environmental as required
  • • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • • Must be able to climb to heights of up to 120'
  • • Demonstrated aptitude to execute customer orders, complete and maintain necessary records
  • • Must have the ability and willingness to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rules
  • • Assure the work being performed consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the supervisor, as well as published policies
  • • Must have basic math skills
  • • Must be able to communicate and comprehend clearly, verbally and in writing, in English
  • • Must be able to understand and comply with all requirements for any emergency
