Job Description

We have a client company in central MN that is looking for Installer and Tower Technicians. Projects will vary and is located in rural areas in MN. Ranging as far north as Little Falls, MN, down to Mankato, and covering the rural areas far east and west of MN – Outside of the Twin Cities Metro Area. Responsibilities

The Installer Technician will be responsible for internet installation, including networking and routers. Responsibilities include daily organization of service calls, customer relations, problem-solving, and maintenance duties.


The Tower Technician will assist the engineering staff with the building and maintenance of network towers and equipment (At heights going up to 200 ft.). Comfort with high places and a solid technical/construction background is preferred but not required.

 

Regular duties include:

  • Climbing network towers to repair electronic equipment
  • Inspecting towers for safety and stability
  • Bolting equipment into place
  • Lifting parts into place, often using a crane, gin pole or other equipment
  • Installing components like antennas, transmission lines, surge arrestors, and connectors
  • Testing network equipment
  • Building radio frequency shields and shelters
  • Laying fiber optic and coaxial cables


The associate will start employment as an Installer Tech, shadowing experienced workers for the first few days at $15/hr and receive a raise to $20/hr after the shadowing period. After 2 weeks, if the associate is a good fit and decides to move into the Tower Technician role, they will be hired on permanently and will receive a growth development plan within the company on additional pay and future advances, allowing the associate to expand their career within this company. You can also choose to stay as an Installer Technician as well if you want to stay away from heights. The compensation plan/ structure will be goal-based so the candidate will be 100% in control of his/her compensation destiny.


  • On the Job Training is provided.
  • Full-time, MON-FRI, Mandatory rotating shifts on the weekends with overtime as needed.
  • General Shift starts at 9:00 AM - Shifts will vary between 8-10 hours or more per day depending on the project and issues that arise.
  • Hourly Pay/shift starts from the time you leave your home to when you return.
  • Maintaining consistent communications via email or phone with the team is a must.
  • You will be working in a team of 3-4 people at a time.
  • The company will provide any necessary tools and PPE needed, but if you can obtain your own tools and PPE, you will receive a $1 increase in your hourly wage.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must provide a copy of a resume along with your application.
  • Electrical or Engineering knowledge/experience is a plus but not required.
  • Must have a vehicle available to travel from project to project as needed.
