Low Voltage Alarm Technician

Overview

Responsibilities

Duties Include:

• Performs system installations, repairs, testing, programming, and inspections.
• Technicians would be responsible for the install of Access Control Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Security Systems, and all necessary cabling which includes extensive fishing in walls, crawl spaces, and attics
• Conduit work as needed
• Create and maintain drawings and accurate documentation on installation paperwork for all systems
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs
• Access control, CCTV, and security system equipment testing, repair, and maintenance procedures;
• Technical and operating methods, tools, equipment, and materials used in security system equipment testing, repair, installation, and maintenance work
• Procedures used for installing and maintaining security systems and equipment
• Use, calibration, and care of electronic test equipment
• Security system cabling color code and installation standards.
• Must be familiar with the installation and operations of fiber optics, Cat 5e, 6a, RS 485, 232 analog and digital cable specifications
• Installs electrical system components as assigned (e.g., panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations detectors, etc.) for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded system capabilities.
• Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm and/or other related electrical system for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems

Qualifications & Experience

• * At least 2 years of experience
• * Possess your own hand tools.
• * Have a reliable vehicle to get to work.
