Sprinkler fitters install a building’s fire system. As a sprinkler fitter, your daily responsibilities include cutting, threading, assembling, and bonding all pipes and tubes to ensure they pass every fire inspection. You must know how to safely operate a variety of tools, including cutting torches, drills, saws, and wrenches, as well as be willing to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
You will inspect and report sprinkler system conditions, including the fire line backflow valve, underground piping, fire pump, risers, and sprinkler heads. Installation and repair of steel, galvanized, and CPVC piping. These pipes need to be inspected and tested regularly in order to be in compliance.
Alarm device systems are also require to be tested in the sprinkler system.
