PeopleReady Skilled Trades is now hiring for experienced Sheetmetal Fabricators for Nassco in Norfolk, VA. Must be available to work 1st and 2nd shift. Must have shipyard experience. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen in order to obtain a DBIDs. Competitive pay from $25.00-$30.00 an hour DOE.

A sheet metal fabricator uses sheet metal to make parts for machines and structures. They read blueprints, cut and shape the metal, and assemble the parts.
Responsibilities
- Plan, lay out, assemble, and repair sheet metal parts, equipment, and products, utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal
- Measure, cut, and weld pieces together
- Secure seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using screws
- Design and construct templates and fixtures
- Maintain and repair sheet metal products
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years directly related experience
- Ability to obtain a DBIDS
- Must be able to pass BG check and drug screen
- Availability to work 1st and 2nd shift
The hourly rate for this position is $25.00-$30.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
