Sheet Metal Mechanic

Overview

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Installers with the installation of HVAC distribution lines and equipment according to design plans
• Use hand tools and portable power tools in the installation of joints of duct such as slide and drive, TDF, snap lock, and other assemblies as required
• Inspects assemblies and installation for quality assurance
• Erect and install equipment such as air handling units, VAV boxes, fan power boxes, and others as required
• Loads and unloads construction materials from trucks and into buildings
• Works safely and encourages others to do so and complies with all health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures

Qualifications & Experience

• Two + years of sheet metal experience
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Must possess your own hand tools (the company may provide specialty tools)
• Able to read and understand project-related documents
• Knowledge of basic construction/shop math (addition, subtraction, division, fractions, and multiplication)
• Plan work and select the proper tools
• Work at heights without fear
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
