Job Description
As a Skilled Laborer with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you’ll support a commercial fencing contractor in Victoria, Texas. The job is building a chain link security fence around a solar farm. (It is NOT doing solar work.) In this temporary role, you’ll earn $22 an hour, enjoy weekly pay, and health insurance benefits. Responsibilities
· Hours: Mon. to Fri., 8 hr. shift, 7:00 am start, occasional overtime as needed.
· Identify any obstacles or uneven terrain that may need adjustments.
· Dig post holes using a post hole digger to create deep holes at corners, gates, and along the fence line, ensuring proper depth.
· Attach tension bands to the top of each post to help maintain fence tension.
· Unroll the chain link mesh along the fence line, ensuring it is properly aligned with the posts.
· Attach the mesh to the posts using specialized clips or wire ties, ensuring even tension along the entire fence
· Use a tensioning tool to evenly pull and tighten the mesh along the fence line, adjusting as needed to maintain consistent tension.
· Add Security Enhancements specifically for this site.
· Set and install gate posts and the gate itself, and the proper hardware.
Qualifications & Experience
- • Be at least 18 years of age.
- • OSHA-10 Construction Safety Certification REQUIRED.
- • Ability to work outside in all-weather elements for the full shift and still complete the job that's required.
- • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation.
- • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- • Prior experience in commercial security fence installation preferred.
- • Prior experience using hand and power tools required.
- • Position DOES REQUIRE a drug screen.
- • Position DOES REQUIRE a background check.
The hourly rate for this position is $22.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
