Job Description
PeopleReady is looking for Welder Trainee to lend their highly sought-after skills to our clients. As a Welder, you will use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components. A Trainee is a Temporary worker employed through a People Ready Skilled Trades. This status lasts up to 90 days. After 90 days, if expectations and Step-Up testing are met Trainee will advance to Apprentice and be an Employee of our Client.
Responsibilities
- Must have done some welding, whether in a formal or informal setting. Does not need a certification, but certification is appreciated. Understand the basic function of welding and how to use the safety equipment.
- Must have ability to take parts of a final product and assemble. Can follow/understand a manufacturers manual.
- Must be Mechanically Inclined/ have the ability to intuitively see how things work.
- When on a Jobsite, you must be representative of the Client Service and Values of Client. Always show professionalism.
- Work in a Team Environment productively. Show you can take directions and follow through until the task is completed.
- Be Punctual/ on time for work, and to jobsites. Acknowledge schedules work in tandem and a lack of punctuality can affect more than one schedule.
Qualifications & Experience
- • Driver’s License: Must be a valid driver’s license. Must not be expired or suspended.
- • Insurable: Driving record must be such that we can insure you in our vehicles. Can pass back-ground check from our Insurance Agency.
- Strong work ethic
- Able to focus on details at all times
- Able to lift 50 pounds in order to load and unload materials as well as carry needed tools to and from the jobsite
- Able to work in varying inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include heat (temperatures above 100 degrees) or cold (temperatures below 32 degrees), in addition to fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, etc.
- Experience with commercial garage doors and warehouse dock lifts is a plus.
