Job Description

PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking HVAC workers who specialize as in Installations, Sheet Metal Mechanic work, Service Technician work, and/or Systems Mechanical work,

As an HVAC workers you will Install or repair heating, central air conditioning, HVAC, or refrigeration systems, including oil burners, hot-air furnaces, and heating stoves. Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer; operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; or inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. Includes sheet metal duct installers who install prefabricated sheet metal ducts used for heating, air conditioning, or other purposes. Some service positoins may also be availabe at various times.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with loading and unloading tools and materials at the jobsite
  • Using hand tools and benders to construct sheet metal components, cold boxes, and HVAC components
  • Installing ridged and flex duct as well as ceiling and wall HVAC vents
  • Checking refrigerants and other HVAC components with gauges and meters


Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualifications:
  • - Minimum three years of experience on commercial construction sites
  • - Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on the fly
  • - In-depth knowledge of building codes and laws in your area
  • - Have all of the tools of your trade on hand and be able to bring them to your jobsite
  • - References that will verify your professional skills and experience
  • - Reliable transportation to and from job site
  • - Must have steel toed work boots and all PPE's
  • - OSHA-10 Construction Certification preferred, not required
  • - Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
  • The hourly rate for this position is as stated above. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
