Job Description
Install, repair, and maintain roofs on residential and commercial buildings. This involves inspecting roofs for damage, measuring and cutting materials, and using various tools and techniques to ensure a weatherproof and structurally sound roof. Roofers also need to understand safety protocols and adhere to building codes
Responsibilities
A commercial roofer specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing roofs on business buildings, commercial facilities, and high-rise structures. Will work with various commercial-grade materials and systems, often on low-slope roofs, and need to understand the unique challenges of these structure
Qualifications & Experience
- Installing different types of commercial roofing systems, including single-ply systems (like EPDM, TPO, PVC), modified bitumen, built-up roofing, and coatings.
- Regularly inspecting roofs for damage, leaks, or other issues and performing necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling roofing materials to ensure proper installation and fit.
- Safety:
- Adhering to safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA regulations, and using proper tools and equipment.
- Communicating effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors regarding project progress and concerns.
- Identifying and resolving issues that arise during roofing projects.
- Working effectively with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion.
- Understanding and interpreting blueprints and specifications for commercial roofing projects.
- Assisting with or performing estimates for labor, materials, and time requirements for commercial roofing projects.
- Commercial roofing often involves specialized materials and systems designed for durability and longevity.
- Commercial roofing projects may be subject to different building codes and regulations.
- Commercial roofs may face unique challenges, such as heavy equipment, harsh chemicals, or grease
- The hourly range for this position is $25-26/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
