Welder (SMAW)

Overview

Responsibilities

• Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) to join structural steel or pipe
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols
• Operate welding and cutting equipment safely and effectively
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and code compliance
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, or varying weather conditions as required
• Maintain a clean and safe job site
• Collaborate with foremen, fitters, and other crew members

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a Stick Welder (preferably on construction or industrial sites)
• Proficient in 6010 and 7018 rods
• Familiarity with construction site safety procedures
• Must have own PPE and basic hand tools
• Current welding certifications – AWS, ASME
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
• The hourly rate for this position is $24-$26/hour. This rate is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
