Job Description

As a Blaster/Painter with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you’ll support carpenter contractors throughout the Placida, FL area. Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation: Set up and dismantle containment systems and equipment. Clean surfaces post-preparation, removing contaminants like rust, old paint, and dirt using methods such as sandblasting, pressure washing, and manual cleaning. Ensure surfaces meet cleanliness standards before coating application.
  • Coating Application: Apply coatings accurately through spraying, brushing, or rolling. Mix coatings according to specifications and apply them following manufacturer guidelines to achieve desired protection and finish.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct pre-work inspections of work areas, personal protective equipment, and painting equipment. Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations, ensuring the safe operation of all equipment and the proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot equipment used in sandblasting and painting operations to prevent downtime and ensure quality work.
  • Quality Control: Perform inspections on prepared surfaces and applied coatings, making adjustments as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Documentation: Accurately record time and job costs, maintaining thorough documentation of work performed.
  • Teamwork: Work efficiently with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors, especially regarding safety concerns or process improvements.


Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial setting, with proven expertise in blasting and painting.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Basic English communication skills and the ability to use digital tools for documentation.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.00-$24.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
