Job Description
PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced and licensed Journeyman HVAC Sheet Metal Installer for a commercial project in Westport, CT. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected mechanical contractor on a project. You’ll be responsible for the installation of HVAC sheet metal systems and ductwork, contributing to a high-quality and efficient mechanical build-out. We are looking for professionals with a strong work ethic, safety mindset, and high attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Monday - Friday 6 am Start Time
- Install, fabricate, and hang rectangular, spiral, and round ductwork per specifications and blueprints
- Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools (snips, pliers, brakes)
- Safely operate and maintain job site tools and equipment
- Collaborate with foremen and other trades to ensure efficient installation
- Secure ducts using cleats, drive slips, S-locks, and other common fittings
- Follow all job site safety procedures and participate in daily safety meetings
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
- Professional, safety-first work culture
Qualifications & Experience
- • CT SM Journeyman License (required)
- • CT SM License #
- • OSHA 10 Card (photo or scan)
- • Resume or short list of recent projects
- • Minimum 4 years of HVAC Sheet Metal Installation Experience
- • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and duct layout plans
- • Own standard SM hand tools: snips, pliers, tape, etc.
- • Must have OSHA 10 certification
- • Must pass Tier 1 background check
- • Bicycle-style chin strap hard hat required (bring your own or request)
- • Reliable transportation to Westport, CT job site
- • Parking: Onsite and available (no issues)
- • Job Site Environment: Active commercial construction site on an academic campus
- • Work Conditions: Indoor and rooftop ductwork, working at heights or in tight spaces as needed
The hourly rate for this position is $46.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
