Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to perform precise footing excavation for residential and commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will safely operate heavy equipment while ensuring excavations meet engineering plans, local building codes, and inspection requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate an excavator to dig footings to specified depth, width, and layout.
Excavate to native, undisturbed soil and below the required frost line.
Ensure footing bottoms are level, clean, and ready for inspection and concrete placement.
Remove loose rock, sloughed soil, standing water, and other debris from trenches.
Verify excavation dimensions and grades using plans, laser levels, or grade stakes.
Work closely with site supervisors and survey crews to maintain accuracy.
Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
Prepare excavations so city or county inspectors can verify trench depth, width, soil conditions, and code compliance before concrete is poured.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.

Responsibilities
Experience operating excavators in footing or foundation excavation.
Ability to read construction plans, grade stakes, and specifications.
Knowledge of trench safety, soil conditions, and excavation best practices.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Reliable transportation and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
OSHA certification and equipment operation experience are preferred
The hourly rate for this position is $$60-$65/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
