Job Description
- $30-45/hour DOE
- Physical Capability: Sustained outdoor labor in all weather; must lift 50+ lbs. and work comfortably aloft and in confined vessel spaces.
- Equipment Operation: Experience with hydraulic boat trailers and yard equipment. Massachusetts Hoisting License 3A or 1A
- Marine Trades: 2–3 years of boatyard experience preferred. Breadth across painting, varnishing, rigging, shrink wrap, and vessel handling valued over single-trade depth.
- Seamanship: Basic boat handling required for sea trials, mooring work, and dock towing.
- Reliability: Proven ability to follow written and verbal direction across multiple departments, meet deadlines, and maintain a clean workspace.
- Record-Keeping: Comfort with routine inspection logs and environmental compliance documentation a plus.

Responsibilities
- Assist all departments as needed to maintain efficient daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with seasonal projects and facility improvements.
- Perform general yard maintenance including cleaning, landscaping, and property upkeep.
- Vessel Handling & Equipment Operations
- Operate hydraulic boat trailers safely and efficiently.
- Licensed Marine Travel Lift Operator with required Massachusetts hoisting licenses 3A/1B (to receive company training as well).
- Perform rigging and hoisting operations in accordance with company procedures.
- Serve as a travel lift spotter using approved hand signals and communication methods.
- Participate in vessel sea trials as assigned by service department.
- Tow docks and vessels as needed.
- Assist with mooring installation, inspection, maintenance, and removal.
- Complete routine vessel maintenance including:
- Painting and Varnishing
- Compounding and Waxing
- Shrink wrapping
- Sailboat rigging, including mast stepping and unstepping.
- Float (dock) construction
- Equipment maintenance logs
- Environmental compliance documentation
- Waste gasoline management
- Waste oil collection, oil burner consumption
- Fire extinguisher inspections
- Eyewash station inspections
- Power washing equipment maintenance
The hourly rate for this position is $30-$45/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.
