Responsibilities
Position is for Experienced 6G Pipe Welders
- Ability to work 5-10's with possible weekend work as needed for the project's critical needs.
- Reading Blueprints and Specifications: Understanding technical drawings and specifications to determine the exact requirements for welding pipe
- Selecting Appropriate Welding Techniques: Choosing the correct welding methods and materials for the job, which may include techniques such as TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), or stick on pipe
- Preparing Pipes by Cleaning, cutting, and shaping the pipes to be welded, ensuring they fit together correctly prior to welding
- Welding Pipes: Using welding equipment to join metal pipes together, ensuring a strong and leak-proof seal
- Inspecting Welds: Checking completed welds for quality and adherence to specifications, often using tools and techniques like X-rays or ultrasound
- Maintaining Equipment: Keeping welding equipment in good working order, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed
- Safety Compliance: Following safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborating with Other Trades: Working alongside other tradespeople, such as pipefitters and electricians, to complete projects efficiently and effectively
- Complete assigned tasks as defined in Drawings; Plans, & as-built specifications provided by management teams.
- Responsible for welding Stainless Steel Pipe & supports, for chilled & hot water systems & other Mechanical systems related to MEP construction projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- • Be at least 18 years of age
- • OSHA 10 Certification or a willingness to obtain it
- • Welding certifications, credentials, or Training required
- • A Complete Personal Tool Bag for the job, including Protective & Safety equipment, will be needed for this position.
- • 5 plus years as a 6G Welder in Industrial or commercial settings is preferred
- • Ability to Weld in all positions, including 6G on pipe, Structural components, or Related construction work requirements
- • Ability to Weld Pipe ranging from 1/2 copper to 36", including but not limited to Steel & Carbon Pipe
- • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable
- accommodation
- • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- • Prior experience in the Commercial Or Industrial Mechanical field (required)
- • Prior experience using MIG, TIG, Stick, and possibly Flux-core (preferred)
- • Position will require a drug screen & Background check
The hourly rate for this position is $29.00-$33.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
