Responsibilities
Commercial plumbing involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial buildings like offices, hospitals, and factories. Responsibilities include inspecting and diagnosing plumbing issues, ensuring compliance with building codes, and potentially preparing cost estimates
Installation: Laying out, cutting, assembling, and installing various types of pipes and fittings underground, including storm drains, sewer lines, and water mains.
Material Handling: Handling and transporting pipes and related materials to the work site.
Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans to determine pipe layout and required materials.
Welding and Joining: Joining pipe sections using various methods like welding, brazing, or cementing.
Maintenance and Repair: Troubleshooting and repairing pipe and pipeline systems, including leaks and malfunctions.
Safety: Adhering to safety policies and procedures, especially when working in confined spaces or with heavy machinery.
Problem-solving: Diagnosing and addressing issues with underground piping system
Qualifications & Experience
- An underground pipefitter installs, maintains, and repairs piping systems, primarily focusing on infrastructure projects like storm drains and underground utilities. This involves working with various materials, including PVC, copper, and steel, and using tools like welding equipment and trenching machines. They also may work on repairing malfunctions, testing pipe systems, and installing fluid systems. Plumbing is the system of pipes and fixtures within a building that provides potable water and removes waterborne waste. It involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply, drainage, and waste disposal systems, as well as the installation and repair of plumbing fixtures like sinks, toilets, and water heater
- hourly range for this position is $28-34/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
