-Conduct job site inspections, serves as a First Responder to any injury/illness that may occur on any of the company’s projects/facilities. 
-Duties include certifying spaces for hot work and entry activities, onboard vessels and their components which are under repair. provide air testing and certification prior to the start of work activities in all applicable spaces. 
-Duties for the position include, but are not limited to: Inspect worksites (including shops). 
-Record all findings using required inspection report and work with project/shop supervision to correct any discrepancies. 
-Work cooperatively and effectively with the company’s diverse workforce, vendors, subcontract personnel and customers, in promoting adherence to, and enforcement of company or regulatory agency policy, rules and regulations in efforts to minimize risk or mitigate safety hazards that impede the company’s productivity. 
-Continuously monitor and report on employee use of PPE, ensuring that the proper PPE is available, & in good working condition. 
-Ensure that employees are properly trained and certified to perform the tasks to which they are assigned.
-Perform specific certification inspections, incl fall arrest, confined space entry, lead abatement or scaffolding inspections. 
-Work with supervisors to ensure that all noted safety discrepancies are abated and that all near-misses are reported according to the Field Safety Manual. 
-Perform other Safety & Environmental tasks to support production and the ongoing improvement of the BS&Y Safety Program. 
-Ensure that spaces are certified for hot work and entry activities onboard vessels and vessel components under repair. 
-Provide testing and certification as required by the project. 
-Follow and execute written and verbal directions left by the Certified Marine Chemist regarding confined and enclosed space safety. 
-Provide daily inspections of confined, enclosed and isolated spaces, as needed, to identify hazards to life and equipment on BS&Y projects. 
-For all spaces certified safe for entry and work, ensure that all conditions are compatible with the work to be performed and the instructions of the Marine Chemist.

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 - 40.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.
