Job Description

The Shop Hand supports daily shop operations by assisting the Senior Shop Manager, handling materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who takes pride in physical work, teamwork, and attention to detail in a woodshop or millwork setting.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Shop Manager with fulfilling orders and keeping shop operations organized and running smoothly

  • Operate shop equipment to process raw boards into finished products, including cutting, planing, sanding, and basic assembly

  • Load and unload materials, move inventory, and stage materials for production

  • Support packaging, labeling, and shipping of finished goods as needed

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace by following shop protocols and completing daily cleanup tasks

  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a productive working environment

  • Comfortable using power tools and woodshop machinery

  • Able to work safely and remain alert in a factory or woodshop environment

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to stay focused, move efficiently, and take pride in quality work

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive in adding value to the team

  • Open to feedback and motivated to learn and improve skills

  • Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support others

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, including handling lumber

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling tools and materials

  • Comfortable working in a warehouse or millwork shop environment with fluctuating temperatures, sawdust, and noise

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
