Job Description

Now hiring for Stryker Mechanics for GDLS in Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO. Stryker Combat Vehicle Mechanics are experienced maintenance mechanics, familiar with the deprocessing and maintenance tasks on the family of Stryker vehicles. The ideal candidate should have verifiable work experience as a stryker mechanic. This position is temp to perm. $35.49 an hour.

Responsibilities

- Perform trouble shooting specific faults, failures and deficiencies.

- Perform preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on family of “Stryker” Vehicles.

- Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in automotive systems (power-pack) engine, transmission, cooling, fuel, exhaust, driveline and suspension using built in test equipment (BITE), test equipment and/or manual troubleshooting procedures (MTPs), common and special tools and applicable technical documentation.

- Repair sub-systems and components, line replacement units (LRU’s) of the “Stryker”. Perform maintenance steps to accomplish repairs will include disassembling, removing and replacing worn/ damaged/defective part(s), adjusting, reassembling and testing using applicable technical documentation.

- Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in hydraulic systems common to all “Stryker” or unique to variants of the “Stryker” vehicle.

- Complete maintenance and administrative forms and other paperwork related to performance of duties.

- Read and interpret troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures and flow diagrams for systems, subsystems and components.

- Skilled in computer operation and Microsoft operating systems. (Word, EXCEL and Power-point)

- Maintain accountability of special tools, test equipment and property.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience working as a stryker mechanic.
  • Must be open to travel inside the US and outside.
  • Must meet the anthropometric requirements (ASR) to entry into the driver’s station or into an enclosed military vehicle. Must be under 6'4 in height and weigh under 260 pounds.
  • Must have a valid State Driver's License and be able to obtain a tank driver’s license
  • Must have basic knowledge of tools and test equipment required for military vehicle maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to gain access to US Military facilities or bases; including a NACI clearance if required.
  • Must be a U.S. person.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented structure in field and shop environment, both on and off military installations.
  • Required to work at heights, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, able to climb, and work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to travel as required to support GDLS maintenance, fielding and retrofit activities for both State-side and International GDLS requirements
  • Must be able to successfully pass the Job Proficiency Certification for Stryker vehicles.
  • Be able to work autonomously with government personnel.

The hourly rate for this position is $35.49/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
