Job Description
As an Apprentice Electrician with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you’ll support a commercial electrical contractor on projects around the Austin, TX area to install, repair and maintain traffic lights. Responsibilities
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8–10 hour shift.
• To install new street lighting, wire up and set working to appropriate specifications and to meet current electrical installation standards.
• Review blueprint and schematics to ensure the project is completed to specifications.
• Assist the Journeyman Electrician(s) with any materials, tools, or tasks requested.
• Undertake electrical testing of street lighting installations, complete and report required records.
• Build out control boxes for manual streetlight and automated system controls next to streetlight pole.
• Maintain wiring for the streetlights and perform any troubleshooting and repairs as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of current electrical code and ensure all electrical systems meets standards.
• Follow all OSHA and safety protocol to ensure safety on the jobsite.
Qualifications & Experience
- • Current/active TDLR Apprentice Electrician license
- • OSHA-10 Certification or a willingness to obtain it is a huge plus!
- • 3+ years experience as an Electrician.
- • Position does require a drug screen.
- • Position does require a background check.
