Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Tile Setter for a high-end residential bathroom remodel. This role requires full-cycle bathroom tile installation experience, including demolition, substrate preparation using modern waterproofing systems, and installation of large-format porcelain tile. This is the first of multiple luxury bathroom projects, and strong performance will lead to continued work on three additional bathrooms.
- Demo existing bathroom finishes down to substrate
- Remove tile, backer board, fixtures, and related materials
- Prepare surfaces for installation of new tile system
- Install GoBoard backer board system properly and securely
- Work with Schluter waterproofing systems and follow manufacturer standards
- Layout and install large-format porcelain tile (32” x 32”) per design plan
- Ensure proper alignment, spacing, leveling, and finish quality
- Maintain clean, professional worksite
Responsibilities
- Journeyman-level tile setting experience
- Strong experience with Schluter systems and GoBoard installation
- Proven experience installing large-format tile
- Ability to complete full bathroom tile projects independently
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- Must provide own tools
The hourly rate for this position is $35 - $38/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
