Job Description
- Position: Carpenter Helper / Entry-Level Apprentice Carpenter
- Location: Greater New Haven, CT Area (within approximately a 20-mile radius of New Haven)
- Pay Rate: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
- Job Type: Full-Time | Project-Based
- Shift: Morning Shift (8:00 AM Start)
- Parking: Onsite
- Start Date: Immediate Openings Available
- Duration: Potential for ongoing, long-term work with opportunities to move from project to project for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Assist an experienced carpenter with residential construction projects.
- Support the construction of a residential deck.
- Measure and cut wood planks accurately.
- Work with premium, high-value building materials where precision is essential.
- Assist with material handling and job site organization.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all job site safety procedures.
- Perform additional carpentry support tasks as assigned.
- Previous carpenter helper, apprentice carpenter, or construction labor experience preferred.
- Strong ability to measure and cut materials accurately with attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of residential carpentry and construction practices.
- Ability to safely use common carpenter hand tools.
- Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Greater New Haven area.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials and perform physical work.

The hourly rate for this position is $24-$26/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.
