PeopleReady Skilled Trades (PRST) is seeking a motivated Carpenter Helper / Skilled Laborer to assist with a general home remodeling project.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with basic carpentry experience who are comfortable using tools and supporting an experienced carpenter on residential renovation work.

  • Position: Carpenter Helper / Skilled Laborer

  • Location: New Haven CT

  • Pay Rate: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour

  • Job Type: Full-Time / Project-Based

  • Shift: Morning Shift – 8:00 AM Start

  • Parking: Available Onsite

  • Start Date: Immediate Openings Available

Job Duties Include:

  • Assisting carpenter with general home remodel tasks

  • Using a Skilsaw safely and effectively

  • Measuring and cutting wood accurately

  • Material handling and site clean-up

  • Supporting framing, trim, and renovation work as needed

  • Maintaining a safe and organized work area

Responsibilities

  • Previous carpentry helper or construction labor experience preferred

  • Ability to safely use a Skilsaw

  • Ability to measure and cut wood accurately

  • Basic understanding of residential remodeling work

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

  • Ability to lift materials and perform physical work

  • Dependable and punctual

Required PPE:

  • Hard hat

  • Safety vest

  • Safety glasses

  • Gloves

  • Work pants

  • Steel or composite toe boots

Required Tools:

  • Claw hammer

  • Tape measure

  • Utility knife

  • Basic carpenter hand tools

The hourly rate for this position is $$22 - $24/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
