Job Description

PRST is currently seeking experienced Electricians to support the installation of HVAC Building Automation System (BAS) controls for a new classroom addition project. This position involves installing new HVAC controls that will be integrated into the existing district-wide Distech Controls Building Automation System.
Commercial HVAC systems rely heavily on electrical components for safe and reliable operation. Electricians play a critical role in installing and connecting power supplies, control wiring, motors, disconnects, and other electrical equipment in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards. 
Compensation: $32–$38/hour (DOE) 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Install and terminate low-voltage control wiring
  • Pull low-voltage cabling for HVAC control systems
  • Install, wire, terminate, and verify electrical connections for HVAC control devices, including VAVs, RTUs, CUHs, exhaust fans, thermostats, temperature sensors, and associated control panels
  • Install raceways, run, and bend conduit as required
  • Perform work from scissor lifts while adhering to all safety standards
  • Ensure all installations are completed in accordance with project specifications, electrical codes, and industry best practices
 

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of low-voltage control wiring and cable installation.
  • Experience wiring HVAC equipment such as:
    • Thermostats
    • Temperature sensors
    • Control panels
  • Ability to install, bend, and run conduit (EMT and possibly other raceway systems).
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, control diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safe electrical installation practices.
  • Ability to work safely from scissor lifts and at heights.
  • Commercial electrical construction experience.

The hourly rate for this position is $32 - $38.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
