Job Description
Work Environment: inside, partially «live» substation,
Tools Required: NONE – tools are provided by MGC-crew (2 Specialists / Supervisors)
- All items to be installed on steel structure will be mouse wired prior to lifts with the crane.
- This includes à Busduct (conductor, capacitive ground & metallic protection tube)
- At this stage items become subject to induction and will be grounded while lifting.
- “lifting grounds” will be removed, after mouse wiring ties to grounded steel structure.
- Mouse wiring will be periodically removed, once potentials interconnect and positions become enclosed.
- At all times, one end of conductor (breaker or transformer) will remain rigidly grounded.
- After installing the final grounds, the remaining mousing wires will be removed to avoid any multi-point grounds, causing circulating current once live.
- Before connecting breaker and transformer, the rigid ground will need to temporarily come down for testing to be carried out and put back in place until final connections will be made.
- Once final connections on both end of the systems are done, the rigid ground can ultimately be removed, and the system is ready for operation from MGC’s end.
PPE Required: steel toes boots, hard hat, safety glasses and FR-clothing requirements: Long Sleeve Shirt and Long Pants. Customer has the FR Vests.

The hourly rate for this position is $48.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
