Job Description
PRST is hiring for a skilled Finish Carpenter for a High-end custom home contractor in the Palo Alto area. Must be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail and take pride in craftsmanship. This is not production work—projects are architect-driven, detail-heavy, and require precision execution. This position pay $42-$45 an hr, DOE. Responsibilities
- Install high-end finish elements: doors, windows, base, crown, casing, and paneling
- Set cabinets, vanities, and built-ins with tight tolerances
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and field layouts
- Scribe and fit materials to uneven surfaces typical in custom homes
- Work with hardwoods, veneers, and specialty materials
- Coordinate with project managers and other trades to maintain schedule and quality
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
Responsibilities
- 5+ years of finish carpentry experience (custom residential preferred)
- Proven ability to deliver high-end, detail-oriented work
- Strong knowledge of layout, reveals, and trim hierarchy
- Proficient with hand tools and finish carpentry equipment
- Ability to read and execute from plans without constant supervision
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Basic PPE and standard tools required
Preferred
- Experience with luxury/custom builds ($1M+ homes)
- Familiarity with European cabinetry systems or millwork installs
The hourly rate for this position is $42 - $45/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
