Journeyman Carpenter

Overview

Responsibilities

DUTIES:

-Complete maintenance, repair, and renovation tasks for multi-family apartments.

-Perform light carpentry (finish work, trim, cabinets, doors), electrical, plumbing, and painting.

-Turn over units—making vacated or newly acquired apartments move-in ready.

-Ensure units and buildings meet safety standards (locks, alarms, smoke detectors, etc.).

-Use a mobile app for managing work orders and submitting receipts.

-Identify and report maintenance needs and complete assigned work orders promptly.

Physical Requirements:

-Lift up to 75 lbs.

-Perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, crouching

-Operate a motor vehicle

-Work in varying environmental conditions (extreme heat or cold)

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualifications
• -Minimum 5 years’ experience in apartment maintenance/handyman work (required)
• -Strong skills in:
• Finish carpentry and trim work
• Cabinet and door installation
• Light plumbing and light electrical repairs
• -Strong work ethic: punctual, reliable, flexible
• -Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or computer for work order management
• -Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
• -Ability to travel daily within MA and NH territory
• -Must pass a criminal and motor vehicle background check
• -Must have own tools and reliable vehicle
• The hourly rate for this position is $30/hr. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
