PeopleReady Skilled Trades (PRST) is seeking a motivated Licensed Sheet Metal Mechanic (SM1 or SM2) for a commercial project in Stamford, CT.
This role involves working in an occupied corporate building, installing and modifying HVAC duct systems in a professional environment. Candidates must be licnesed, experienced, safety-focused, and capable of working efficiently in active building conditions.
Job Duties Include:
- Installing rectangular ductwork
- Installing round pipe
- Installing spiral duct systems
- Working in an occupied corporate facility
- Reading and following mechanical drawings
- Ensuring all work meets commercial HVAC standards and safety requirements
- Position: Licensed Sheet Metal Mechanic (SM1 or SM2)
- Location: Stamford, CT
- Pay Rate: $47.00 – $50.00 per hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Start Time: 6:00 AM
- Job Type: Full-Time / Commercial Project
- Work Environment: Occupied corporate building
Responsibilities
- Valid SM1 or SM2 Sheet Metal License required
- Proven experience as a sheet metal mechanic in commercial environments
- Ability to install duct, round pipe, and spiral duct systems
- Must have standard sheet metal mechanic hand tools
- Ability to work in an occupied building setting
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong knowledge of HVAC installation practices
- Ability to work Monday–Friday starting at 6:00 AM
Required PPE:
- Hard hat
- Safety vest
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
- Work pants
- Steel or composite toe boots
Tools:
- Standard SM mechanic hand tools required
- Specialty tools provided on site

The hourly rate for this position is $47.00 - 50.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
