Job Description
PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Machinist II and Machinist III to operate convention lathes and/or milling machines. The Machinist will is responsible for performing duties related to the operation, repair, replacement and maintenance of drill rigs. Responsible for safely operating any of the Conventional Lathes or Milling Machines in the Machine Shop to produce quality parts to specification within stated tolerances. Workers must take pride in their work, stay focused on assigned tasks and be familiar with using equipment safely. Pay is $24-26/hour, depending on experience. Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Read Blue Prints
- Read Micrometers
- Solve Problems
- Hold required tolerances
- Perform work according to standards
- Perform machine setups
- Maintain shop equipment
- Grind (sharpen) Drills and cutting tools
- Set up castings
- Ability to work with both internal members such as Operations Management, Engineering as well as provide Customer Service.
- May be required to accept/reject components to be machined. Tool selection.
Errors: Potential rework due to quality errors, failure to provide material to customers in accordance with the schedule.
EXPOSURE TO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION: Product Specifications.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Make Quality number one issue
2. Keep on schedule in shop
3. Keep shop safe and clean
4. Maintain shop supplies (Inserts, drills, etc.)
5. Respond to urgent jobs from the other shops
6. Respond to Customer Service requests
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have 3+ years of experience as a Machinist operating a conventional lathe or mill
- Must have personal tool set
- Must have Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
