Job Description
PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Lighting Riggers to support a permanent installation project in the Richmond, VA area. The selected candidates will be responsible for assisting with the assembly and suspension of truss systems, rigging motors, and ensuring the system is fully operational and safely installed. The scope of work includes rigging approximately 100 feet of truss for a permanent installation. This setup consists of four (4) pick points on a square truss and two (2) pick points on a straight truss run.
A Lighting Rigger focuses specifically on the rigging systems that support lighting equipment and related infrastructure.

Assembling and hanging truss systems designed to carry lighting fixtures.

Rigging and operating chain motors used to lift lighting truss.

Installing rigging hardware (shackles, steels, spansets, safeties)

Setting and verifying pick points and load distribution for lighting systems.

Leveling, securing, and locking truss in final position.

Performing safety inspections on rigging and motor systems.

Following OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.

Coordinating with lighting technicians and project leads.
Responsibilities
Proven experience as a Lighting Rigger or similar role with truss rigging, motor setup, and safe execution of overhead installations.
Knowledge of truss systems, motor rigging, and load distribution.
Ability to follow safety protocols and work as part of a team.
Experience with permanent installations preferred.
Tools: c-wrenches, box wrenches, multitool, multi screwdriver, gloves, headlamp or flashlight, and any other tools that they would require to mount truss rigging and hang stage lights
PPE: Steel Toe Boots, Hard Hat, Safety Vest, Safety Glasses, Work Gloves
The hourly rate for this position is $28.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
