Description Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Paint Finisher 2 to join our team. This advanced position focuses on applying specialized powder coating techniques to steel components while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in surface preparation, precise coating application, and proficient operation of related equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to lead or mentor junior technicians.  Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities: • Advanced Surface Preparation: Perform comprehensive cleaning, sandblasting, and preparation of steel components to ensure optimal surface readiness for powder coating. • Specialized Powder Coating Application: Apply powder coatings using advanced techniques, ensuring consistent and defect-free finishes that meet precise specifications. • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior technicians, share expertise, and support team training initiatives. • Equipment Mastery: Expertly set up, operate, and troubleshoot powder coating equipment, including booths, spray guns, and curing ovens, to ensure efficient and quality operations. • Enhanced Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of finished products, identifying and addressing imperfections such as uneven coating, bubbles, or chips. • Preventative Maintenance: Lead in performing and documenting routine maintenance on equipment to maximize functionality and extend tool lifespan. • Inventory Oversight: Monitor and manage powder coatings, tools, and consumable stock levels, ensuring availability for continuous production.
 • Compliance Leadership: Enforce adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. • Collaboration: Contribute to a positive, respectful team environment by supporting coworkers, communicating professionally, and demonstrating a strong work ethic. • Collaborative Production Support: Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and maintain an organized workspace. • Regular and reliable attendance: Adhere to assigned work schedules and punctuality standards. 
Requirements Required Skills & Qualifications: • Proven experience in powder coating, including advanced application techniques and surface preparation. • In-depth knowledge of sandblasting and powder coating equipment, including troubleshooting and maintenance. • Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to high-quality finishes. • Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and perform tasks in a manufacturing setting. • Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols related to chemicals and machinery. Education & Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in powder coating, surface preparation, or industrial painting. • Technical training or certifications in powder coating or industrial finishing preferred. 
Key Competencies: • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in powder application, surface prep, and equipment use. • Quality Awareness: Maintains consistent attention to coating standards and visual finish. • Safety Focus: Follows and promotes strict adherence to safety and chemical handling protocols. • Problem-Solving: Identifies coating issues and implements effective solutions. • Team Support: Willing to assist, guide, and collaborate with others to meet production goals. • Reliability: Consistently meets production goals while maintaining attention to detail and worksite cleanliness. 
Work Environment & Physical Demands: • Regular exposure to manufacturing conditions, including noise, dust, and chemicals. • PPE including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing is required. • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs. • Operation of spray booths, curing ovens, and sandblasting equipment is routine. • Flexibility may be required to meet production deadlines or shift priorities.

The hourly rate for this position is $20 - $21/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
