Job Description

PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking a Pipe Foreman with proven leadership and a strong civil construction background to oversee underground utility and pipeline installation projects. The ideal candidate will have deep field knowledge of pipe installation, excavation safety, heavy equipment operation, and utility systems. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground leadership role where safety, precision, and production go hand in hand, you’ll support Civil contractors throughout Memphis, TN. and the surrounding area. In this full time role, you’ll earn up to $35/hour (based on experience), enjoy weekly pay, and health insurance benefits.

Responsibilities

Hours: 5 X 8's


HIGHLY PREFERRED CRITERIA: "Previous field / working Pipe Foreman experience across multiple pipe types (PVC, Ductile Iron, RCP, HDPE for storm, sewer, water and fire systems."

  • Supervise and lead crews in the installation of water, storm, and sewer pipelines
  • Read and interpret civil blueprints and site plans for pipe placement and alignments
  • Coordinate trenching operations and ensure compliance with OSHA excavation standards (sloping, shoring, shielding, benching)
  • Identify soil types and apply correct excavation and safety methods accordingly
  • Utilize grade lasers, levels, and other instruments to set proper elevations and slopes
  • Perform and oversee water line pressure testing and inspection processes
  • Operate and direct safe use of heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, and mini-excavators
  • Enforce confined space entry procedures and PPE compliance
  • Maintain clear documentation of daily production, inspections, and safety reports
  • Communicate effectively with general contractors, inspectors, and internal teams to keep work on schedule


Qualifications & Experience

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • 5 years of verifiable experience in civil utility piping and excavation
  • Demonstrated leadership experience on active construction sites
  • In-depth knowledge of trench safety, soil classification, and confined space protocols
  • Proficiency with grade instruments and blueprint reading
  • Experience conducting water line pressure testing
  • Proficient in safe operation of heavy equipment
  • Valid Driver’s License and Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Be able to complete and pass pre-employment background check
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying weather, and perform physically demanding tasks

The hourly rate for this position is $35.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
