Job Description
As a Skilled Laborer with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you’ll support various contractors on upcoming construction projects throughout Nashville, TN. and the surrounding area. In this full time role, you’ll earn up to $27 an hour (based on experience), enjoy weekly pay, and health insurance benefits.

Responsibilities
Provide support to carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled tradespeople as needed
This may include holding materials, setting forms, or preparing the work area, ensuring they are clean, organized, and safe
Efficiently move, load, and unload construction materials such as concrete, lumber, steel, and other building supplies
Use a variety of hand tools and power tools (e.g., saws, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner to assist with demolition, excavation, and groundwork
Ensure tools are properly maintained and report any malfunctioning equipment to Site Supervisor
Adhere to all OSHA guidelines and local safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and the team
Report any safety hazards immediately to the site supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have at least 2 years' paid / verifiable experience as a Skilled Laborer (Demolition, site clean up, trenching, Carpenter Helper, Electrician Helper, Plumber Helper, HVAC Helper, etc.) and be able to articulate such experience during an interview
- Familiarity with construction techniques, materials, and tools, including hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople
- Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
The hourly rate for this position is $20.00-$27.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
