Job Description
As a Skilled Laborer with PRST, you’ll play a vital role in keeping hundreds of valuable solar panels safe and secure behind a security fence that you will be installing. This is a very important job and attention to details is a must, along with the ability to perform a physically demanding job for the full shift as well. You’ll be installing a 6-foot security fence around the entire solar farm. This is a temporary job that has a good, and often requested, schedule of 4X10’s, Monday to Thursday. Which leaves Friday and Saturday, once approved, for makeup days if needed after a weather delay. This project will last about 4-6 months estimating, that includes the possibility of weather delays.
What you’ll do:
- Prep and mark the area where you will be installing each post to connect the chain link fence.
- Work with Equipment Operators that use the auger and roller, to install the posts in the post holes and unwind the chain link fence and barbed wire.
- Attach tension bands to the top of each post to help maintain fence tension.
- Attach the mesh to the posts using specialized clips or wire ties, ensuring even tension along the entire fence
- Use a tensioning tool to evenly pull and tighten the mesh along the fence line, adjusting as needed to maintain consistent tension.
- Add Security Enhancements specifically for this site.
- Set and install gate posts and the gate itself, and the proper hardware.
- Complete any other tasks instructed by the site supervisor.
- Maintain safety awareness and practice all state and federal safety procedures.

Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a skilled laborer on a construction site.
- Strong skills with using multiple types of hand and power tools.
- Comfortable with repetitive lifting of 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work on Friday and/or Saturday to make up for weather delays.
- OSHA 10 certification REQUIRED (or willingness to obtain prior to starting assistance available)
- Background check AND drug screen REQUIRED prior to placement
- Safety-first mindset and ability to follow technical procedures
- Ability to stand on feet for duration of a 10-hour shift
The hourly rate for this position is $22.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
