Responsibilities
- Hours: 5x8's, Monday-Friday, 40+ hours
- Access and safely work in underground manholes to locate and identify proper bolting and anchoring points.
- Run, pull, and terminate fiber-optic cable in accordance with site plans and specifications.
- Install and secure conduit and innerduct pathways for fiber-optic runs.
- Label and document all wire pulls, terminations, and connection points for accurate record-keeping.
- Perform splicing and testing of fiber-optic cable using fusion splicers, OTDRs, and power meters, as required.
- Work alongside site engineers and fiber techs to verify continuity and signal strength of installed lines.
Qualifications & Experience
- • Valid Driver's License
- • Ability to bend , crawl through manholes.
- • Interpret and work from blueprints, site maps, and fiber layout drawings.
- • Coordinate with other trades and site supervisors to ensure proper sequencing and routing of fiber systems.
- • Assist in the setup and takedown of temporary power or lighting systems as needed to support fiber runs.
- • Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on fiber systems to identify and resolve connectivity issues.
- • Report progress, issues, and safety concerns to the electrical lead or site manager daily.
- • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day
- • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- • Prior experience in the commercial field preferred
- • Prior experience using Electrical hand tools preferred
- • Position REQUIRES a drug screen and Background check !
The hourly rate for this position is $23.00-$30.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
