Pay $40-$55/hour DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems on passenger rail vehicles.
- Perform inspections, testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to identify and correct issues.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and work instructions.
- Perform equipment commissioning, testing, system verification, and operational checks as needed.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance activities meet company quality standards and safety requirements.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and testing results.
- Support vehicle startup, performance verification, and operational readiness activities.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
- Mentor and support less experienced technicians when applicable.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Field Service Technician, Rail Mechanic, or similar role.
- Experience repairing and troubleshooting large mechanical equipment such as:
- Construction equipment
- Cranes
- Mining equipment
- Agricultural equipment
- Locomotives
- Rail vehicles
- Port equipment
- Industrial machinery
- Heavy trucks and diesel equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Familiar with preventive maintenance programs and repair procedures.
- Strong understanding of shop safety practices and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work independently and solve complex mechanical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on trains, rail equipment, locomotives, transit vehicles, or other transportation equipment.
- Mechanical commissioning, startup, testing, or equipment validation experience.
- Experience with rotating equipment, hydraulics, compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, or industrial mechanical systems.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Technology, Diesel Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Field Service Technician, Rail Mechanic, or similar mechanical repair role.
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining large mechanical equipment such as construction equipment, mining equipment, agricultural equipment, heavy trucks, port equipment, industrial machinery, or transportation equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with company procedures and OSHA standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing, maintenance, rail, industrial, or shop environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to pass any required pre-employment screenings.
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, and work around large equipment in a shop or production environment.
The hourly rate for this position is $43 - $55/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
