Job Description
- Perform layout, fit-up, beveling, grinding, welding, and other fabrication duties associated with structural steel manufacturing.
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate fabrication of components.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, cutting torches, and heating equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure finished products meet industry standards, project requirements, and customer expectations.
- Maintain a safe work environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards, participating in weekly safety meetings, and keeping work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and rules of conduct.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and quality goals.
- Assist with material handling, equipment maintenance, and other shop duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Previous experience as a Welder/Fitter, Welding Fabricator, or in a related steel fabrication role preferred; entry-level candidates with relevant skills and training are encouraged to apply.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of welding and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to pass a 1G/2G GMAW welding test.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication plans.
- Experience safely operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of welding codes, fabrication standards, and quality control processes preferred.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a team member.
- Willingness to take direction from supervisors and adapt to changing production needs.
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship, safety awareness, and workplace professionalism.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
The hourly rate for this position is $18.00-$24.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.
