Location: Santa Ana, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Job Duties:
- Set up, program (as needed), and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, routers, and grinders.
- Machine high-precision aerospace tooling and hardware to tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and CAD models.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools and make machining adjustments as needed.
- Lead, train, and mentor apprentice and junior machinists.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and work with engineering to improve tooling and production processes.
- Perform minor machine maintenance and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while following 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
- Monitor production schedules and communicate workflow updates with supervisors.
- Assist in developing fixtures and tooling for composite layup molds and production hardware.
- Ensure compliance with all company quality, safety, and aerospace manufacturing standards.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or CNC machining certifications preferred.
- 5–10 years of machining experience in a lead or senior machinist role.
- Aerospace and composite manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and work to close tolerances.
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- E-Verify - Eligible to work in the USA
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
The hourly rate for this position is $40 - $60/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
