Job Description
- Lay, join, align, wrap, and seal large-diameter pipe
- Install 84" ductile iron pipe (DIP) and other heavy pipe systems
- Work with water transmission lines feeding a reservoir and treatment facility
- Set and maintain proper line and grade
- Assist with pipe positioning, connections, alignment, and installation
- Work closely with excavator operators and other members of the underground utility crew
- Safely handle and rig extremely heavy pipe sections
- Work in deep trenches while following all required safety procedures
Responsibilities
- 1–3+ years of verifiable pipelaying or pipefitting experience
- Experience on major utility, civil, water, or treatment plant projects
- Experience with large-diameter pipe is strongly preferred
- Ability to safely rig and handle heavy pipe
- Comfortable working in deep trenches around heavy equipment
- Ability to read grades, elevations, and pipe installation requirements
- Pipe laser experience strongly preferred for top-rate candidates
- Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively as part of a crew
Position: Pipelayer / Pipefitter
Pay: $26–$36/hr
Project Scope: Approximately 1 mile of 84" pipe
The hourly rate for this position is $$26.00-$36.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.
