Responsibilities


  • Hours: 5x8's
  • Finishing the Finish Work
  • After the carpenters, painters and electricians leave a newly constructed house or other building for the last time, punchout technicians take over. Punchout technicians are responsible for repairs to newly constructed homes or commercial buildings as part of final quality control activities. After the punch list is created, the punchout technician reviews it to determine what repairs are needed. An eye for detail is important for anyone assigned to this role.

  • Carpentry
  • If molding, doors or wood trim work is damaged before the construction project is closed down, a punchout technician makes the needed fixes. She also repairs drywall and replace flawed, broken or missing hardware on cabinets and doors.

  • Physical endurance: Carpenters need to lift heavy materials and work long hours.
  • Physical strength: Carpentry jobs involve standing, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Good hand-eye coordination: Necessary for accurate cutting and shaping of materials.
  • Problem-solving skills: Carpentry work is often unpredictable, so quick problem-solving is essential.
  • Soft skills and work ethics: Communication, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are also important.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prior experience in the residential field preferred

  • The hourly rate for this position is $24-31/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
