Job Description

As PVC Installation Technician with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you’ll support our electrical contractor throughout Jacksonville, FL. In this full time role, you’ll earn up to $20 an hour (based on experience), enjoy weekly pay, health insurance benefits and a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

This role involves accurately gluing PVC pipes together and burying them in accordance with project plans and safety regulations.

Cutting PVC pipes to specified lengths, ensuring square cuts, and removing any burrs or imperfections
Cleaning and priming the PVC pipes and fittings before applying glue to ensure a strong bond
Applying PVC cement to both the pipe end and the fitting, inserting the pipe into the fitting, and holding the joint firmly for a set amount of time to allow the cement to cure
Laying out the pipe route, following plans or specifications
Digging trenches to the required depth, placing the pipes in the trenches, and covering them with soil or other materials according to project requirements
Adhering to all safety regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment
Inspecting joints for proper alignment and integrity
Operating necessary tools and equipment, such as saws, grinders, and digging equipment

Qualifications & Experience

Experience with cutting, gluing, and installing PVC pipes
Knowledge of pipe burial practices and safety regulations
Own tools and ability to bring them to the job site
Ability to read and interpret blueprints or specifications
Ability to lift and carry pipe segments, operate tools, and work in a variety of outdoor conditions
Preferred: Experience with trenching and backfilling equipment

The hourly rate for this position is $18.00-$20.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
