Job Description
As West Hartford Warehouse Generalist with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you’ll support company that specializes in supplying and installing commercial doors, frames, and hardware products for construction projects throughout West Hartford, CT with day-to-day operations, with responsibilities ranging from managing phone calls, receiving and organizing materials, to ensuring safe and efficient packing and delivery of products. Responsibilities
· Hours: Work Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.
· Parking: Onsite
· Phone Management: Screen and route incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently, directing legitimate calls to the appropriate internal team members.
· Material Management: Receive, organize, and store materials within the warehouse, ensuring proper unboxing and inventory management.
· Shipping & Receiving: Verify incoming shipments, compare invoices to orders, and ensure all goods are in excellent condition.
· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, shipments, and deliveries for internal tracking.
· Packing & Delivery: Properly pack items for shipment and safely deliver construction materials to job sites using company vehicles.
· Warehouse Equipment: Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, dock plates, and door dollies with care and safety.
· Customer & Team Interaction: Work closely with both internal teams and contractor customers to maintain an organized and efficient warehouse.
Qualifications & Experience
- • Be at least 18+ years of age
- • OSHA 10 Certification: Ideally obtained before starting, but willing to allow the candidate to complete within the first 90 days of employment.
- • Check: MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check required due to driving responsibilities. Certification or a willingness to obtain it
- • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 70 lbs, as many warehouse items are heavy and cumbersome (e.g., hollow metal doors, wood doors, frames, and hardware) with or without reasonable accommodation
- • Phone Skills: A pleasant phone demeanor is essential for screening and routing incoming calls.
- • Attention to Detail: Ability to multitask and maintain a high level of accuracy when organizing and tracking materials.
- • Teamwork: Interpersonal skills are important for working effectively within the warehouse team and with contractors at job sites.
- • Computer Skills: Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 suite, particularly Excel and Outlook, or willingness to learn.
- • OSHA 10 Certification: Ideal prior to starting but can be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
- • Driving: Ability to make occasional deliveries using a company vehicle.
- • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day
- • Prior experience in the commercial field preferred
The hourly rate for this position is $21.00-$24.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
