Job Description
PeopleReady Skilled Trades is now hiring experienced Aluminum Welders in Norfolk, VA. Must have shipyard experience. Must be able to pass a background check in order to obtain a DBIDs badge. Must pass a drug screen. Pay range up to $32 an hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities
Using various welding techniques to weld aluminum in different positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead
Inspecting: Checking welds to ensure they meet specifications and standards
Reading: Reviewing blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
Setting up: Preparing welding equipment and tools
- Maintaining: Keeping work spaces organized and updating welding task logs
- Set up welding equipment and tools (MIG and TIG)
- Review blueprints for specifications
- Weld, cut, and grind aluminum of different widths
- Finish and inspect products for quality
- Fabricating and assembling metal structures, Cutting and grinding aluminum
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Completion of welding training or apprenticeship preferred
- 3+ years of welding experience preferred
- MIG or TIG Certification (preferred)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
