Job Description
Responsibilities (Carpentry-Focused)
Assignment Length: 6–8 months
Carpentry & Building Repairs
- Perform finish carpentry, including:
- Patch and repair drywall
- Trim repairs (baseboards, casings, molding)
- Door, frame, and hardware installation/repair
- Cabinet repairs and minor rebuilds
- Window and framing repairs on units and common areas
- Complete woodwork maintenance and light fabrication as needed
- Replace or repair building fixtures and components with emphasis on carpentry skill
General Unit Maintenance
- Replace faucets, fill valves, lights, garbage disposals, hood vents, and similar components
- Service stoves, dishwashers, and basic appliances
- Perform light, low-voltage electrical tasks
- Prep and paint unit interiors as needed
- Change locks and maintain key systems
Unit & Common Area Upkeep
- Prepare units for turnover
- Maintain clean, safe common areas
- Clean vacant units as needed
Grounds & Seasonal Work
- Landscaping and general exterior upkeep
- Snow removal during winter months
Responsibilities
Requirements
- 21+ years of age
- Strong carpentry background (residential or commercial)
- Prior experience in the commercial field required
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
- Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation as needed
The hourly rate for this position is $30.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
