Job Description

As an on-site Maintenance Technician (Carpentry-Focused) with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you’ll support a multi-family property and perform carpentry-focused repair and maintenance work on site in Gloucester, MA at an apartment complex. Responsibilities (Carpentry-Focused)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, possible OT & on-call
Assignment Length: 6–8 months

Carpentry & Building Repairs

  • Perform finish carpentry, including:
    • Patch and repair drywall
    • Trim repairs (baseboards, casings, molding)
    • Door, frame, and hardware installation/repair
    • Cabinet repairs and minor rebuilds
    • Window and framing repairs on units and common areas
  • Complete woodwork maintenance and light fabrication as needed
  • Replace or repair building fixtures and components with emphasis on carpentry skill

General Unit Maintenance

(Carpentry-focused but includes light general maintenance)
  • Replace faucets, fill valves, lights, garbage disposals, hood vents, and similar components
  • Service stoves, dishwashers, and basic appliances
  • Perform light, low-voltage electrical tasks
  • Prep and paint unit interiors as needed
  • Change locks and maintain key systems

Unit & Common Area Upkeep

  • Prepare units for turnover
  • Maintain clean, safe common areas
  • Clean vacant units as needed

Grounds & Seasonal Work

  • Landscaping and general exterior upkeep
  • Snow removal during winter months

Responsibilities

  • Requirements

    • 21+ years of age
    • Strong carpentry background (residential or commercial)
    • Prior experience in the commercial field required
    • Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently
    • Strong communication and customer-service skills
    • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation
    • Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
    • Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation as needed

The hourly rate for this position is $30.00/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
