Responsibilities
- Using paddles, flags, and hand signals to guide traffic, stop motorists, and safely allow traffic to flow through work zones.
- Protecting crews by recognizing dangerous situations and maintaining a safe distance between traffic and workers.
- Using two-way radios to coordinate traffic movement with other flaggers or supervisors, especially when dealing with one-lane closures.
- Setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, such as cones, barrels, and warning signs.
- Providing clear, polite directions to commuters, even in high-stress situations.
- Standing for extended periods in various, often harsh, weather conditions.
- Flexible to work various shifts as needed.
- Must possess a valid Washington State Traffic Control Flagger Card
- At least 6-months of recent work experience as a Flagger
- Wearing of high-visibility, fluorescent apparel, and PPE
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
The hourly rate for this position is $24 - $25/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
