Job Description

- Cut, fit, assemble, and install heavy structural steel and mechanical components
- Work with thick structural steel and large metal components
- Use torches, saws, grinders, drills, impact tools, and other hand and power tools
- Measure, mark, drill, cut, grind, fit, and fasten steel components
- Cut or remove sections of steel from structures and equipment as required
- Build and install metal staircases, platforms, supports, frames, and other structural components
- Work on storage tanks, industrial equipment, and large metal structures
- Perform mechanical and structural installation work in industrial and construction environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Ensure proper alignment, fit, dimensions, and quality of structural assemblies
- Work around and assist with welding operations; welding experience is a plus
- Maintain and safely operate tools and equipment
- Follow all company and job-site safety requirements
- Work outdoors and in physically demanding environments as needed
Responsibilities
- Must be 18 years old
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States
- Previous experience with structural steel, heavy mechanical installation, metal fabrication, or industrial construction
- Strong experience cutting and working with steel
- Experience working with thick/heavy structural steel
- Ability to understand how steel components are fabricated, fitted, assembled, and installed
- Experience building or installing metal structures, staircases, platforms, tanks, supports, or similar components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Experience using grinders, drills, saws, cutting equipment, and other power tools
- Welding experience strongly preferred
- Welding certification is a plus
- Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Must be comfortable working outdoors and in changing job-site conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and walk for extended periods throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
The hourly rate for this position is $30-$39/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
